battery light on the dash image

As cars become more technologically advanced, the importance of your vehicle’s battery becomes more important. In the old days, a car battery essentially worked, or it didn’t; if it was good enough to start the car, it was good enough. Modern vehicles are a different story. A faulty battery can cause a variety of issues, including engine codes, sensor failures, irregular transmission behavior, and the list goes on.

Battery failure often causes issues that are commonly misdiagnosed, and in the hands of the wrong auto repair shop, a mechanic may spend hundreds of your hard-earned dollars chasing problems that don’t exist. At Woody's Automotive in Wichita, KS, our mechanics are familiar with modern vehicles and the problems that accompany them.

driving

Obviously, the dirtier your fuel system is, the bigger the improvement you will see in performance and fuel economy after a fuel system cleaning. But it is important not to wait until your system is running poorly. If you do, by the time you get a cleaning, you’ve wasted hundreds of dollars in gas or even possibly damaged your fuel injectors and catalytic converter.

Once you have a set of new tires installed on your commercial truck or fleet vehicle, you’ll want to get the most out of them. By maintaining them correctly and inspecting them regularly, you’ll keep them on the road for many miles to come. At Woody's Automotive in Wichita, KS we want you to be able to drive on your tires for miles, so let us help you do just that!

fuel gauge

Your car’s fuel system works with the rest of the engine control system to deliver the best performance with the lowest emissions. Check your car’s fuel system regularly or immediately if you smell gas or suspect a problem.

What does it do? - The fuel system transfers fuel from the fuel tank and passes it through a fuel filter for straining before it arrives at the injectors. A pressure regulator controls fuel pressure to ensure good engine performance under a variety of speed and load conditions. Fuel injectors, when activated, spray a metered amount of fuel into the engine. Some vehicles use a return line system to return unused fuel back to the tank.

Ever looked at the bottom of your shoes and noticed that one area of the sole is more worn than another? The way you walk causes a wear pattern to occur as you put more weight on certain areas of your feet. If your shoe needed work, you would take it to a cobbler.

I want to let everyone know who much Woody's in College Hill helped me out with some massive repairs that I had put off for years. Started out small in 2019 with a dash warning light about my 'Passenger Air Bag'. They determined that it was only the sensor (not the Air Bag) in the passenger seat belt housing but due to the age of the car and the part was no longer available new. They took on the challenge to find either a 'rebuilt' or new (from somewhere). It took almost a year, but they found one and now it's fixed. Dedication ! Then Jan 2023 the starter died and I had it replaced along with decided to get it and other stuff like Spark Plugs, Steering Rack & Pinion and Control Arm replaced/fixed. Excellent JOB!! Went back in Mar 2023 to finish all the outstanding work with all Struts/Shocks replaced and an Oil Crankshaft leak repair. My car drives like a dream - so smooth! And best of all I believe with all the work my mileage has improved!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE and ALL THE GUYS THERE! Friendly, not condescending to those without mechanical knowledge and gives full explanations! Have used since I moved to Wichita and will continue!
