oil

These days, it seems like the oil options for your oil changes are limitless - full synthetic, blends, conventional, high mileage, and the list goes on and on. We are frequently asked if it's okay to switch between oils, and how do you know what is okay to use? At Woody's Automotive in Wichita, KS we're here to help you answer that question. When it comes to engine oil, the answer to this question can be as complicated or as simple as you want it to be!

air filter

At Woody's Automotive in Wichita, we see a lot of dirty filters. Oil filters typically get replaced with each oil change, but air, fuel, and cabin filters last a long time. As such, they are often neglected until well after they’ve run their course. Here’s why you should care:

vehicle battery

At Woody's Automotive in Wichita, KS, we know how annoying a dead battery can be. Here’s some information on the subject, that will hopefully help you understand your battery issues a little better.

fleet vehicles in a row

At Woody's Automotive in Wichita, our expert mechanics are here to work for you. On large commercial trucks, there’s one component that works harder than almost all the rest; your brakes. Our technicians have the knowledge and ability necessary to have your truck stopping like the day it rolled off the lot, no matter what the problem is.

vehicle driving down the road

You don’t have to buy a new, fuel-efficient car to get great fuel efficiency. No one wants to trade a fuel bill for a car payment, so take a look at our top 5 ways to save on fuel and you may just be able to pocket a little extra money at the end of the month.

1. Change Your Driving Style - If you’re the kind of person who enjoys the rush of hard acceleration, typically runs 10 mph over the speed limit and brakes abruptly, we’ve got bad news: you’re hurting your vehicle’s fuel economy, and your wallet, in a big way. Depending on the kind of vehicle you drive and just how extreme you are with the throttle and brake, tempering your driving style can up your vehicle’s fuel economy by more than 5 mpg. That’s a serious bump. Scaling back the speed by just 5 mph means you’ll also see an increase in fuel economy.

They were the second place I called. The mechanic I spoke to took the time to get a quote and call me back. Then when I took the vehicle in, they inspected everything before they started working. They called to let me know the u joint in the steering column was shot. They replaced that, my outer front tie rod end, put in a new air filter, cleaned my battery terminals, and did my alignment all for just under 700 bucks. The place I called after Woody's was gonna charge me that much just to replace the front tie rod ends. Granted, that was after my military discount (60 bucks). But even then, had I gone with the other place it would've been another 3-400 bucks easy. My vehicle is driving great. It feels good to be able to be confident in my vehicle again. I will definitely be utilizing them again, down the road.
gas cap

At Woody's Automotive in Wichita, we know that some of the most elusive issues with any car, truck, or SUV are often caused by the simplest of malfunctions. While you might consider a gas cap fairly innocuous, it can actually malfunction too, prompting a check engine light on your dashboard.
